CHAPTER 1
Understanding the target audience
User Research
The primary target audience for ePuja.co.in includes tech-savvy individuals living in urban areas of India who have busy schedules and seek a convenient and trustworthy solution to perform religious rituals. The secondary audience comprises NRIs who wish to perform pujas remotely for their loved ones in India.
User Personas
The research methods employed were as follows:
a. Interviews: Gathered insights on user motivations, pain points, and trust factors related to puja booking.
b. Surveys: Collected quantitative data on user preferences and challenges during pujas, including product pages and checkout feedback.
c. Competitive Analysis: Analysed similar platforms to identify trust-building opportunities and optimise product pages and checkout flows.
CHAPTER 2
Information Architecture
Task-flow & User-journey
Wire-framing and Prototyping: Low-fidelity wireframes outlined page layout, structure, and interactions focused on building trust, optimising product pages, and checkout process.
Visual Design: High-fidelity mockups and visual design established a cohesive, trustworthy brand identity. Elements included clean aesthetics, clear typography, and trustworthy colors. Custom illustrations enhanced the user experience.
Special attention was given to building trust through transparent information about certified priests and incorporating user reviews.
Puja Categories: A section where users can explore different types of pujas, sorted by categories such as festivals, occasions, and specific deity pujas.
Product Pages: Each puja was given a dedicated product page that presents detailed information about the ritual, its significance, materials used, and any associated customs.
Booking and Scheduling: A feature that enables users to select a puja, choose a priest, and schedule the date and time for the ritual.
Payments: A secure payment gateway to handle transactions. Trust seals and secure payment icons were prominently displayed to assure users of the platform's reliability.
Checkout Page: A simplified and intuitive checkout page that guides users through the payment process. Trust indicators and customer testimonials were also featured to reinforce trust during the checkout process.
User Dashboard: A personalized dashboard where users can manage their bookings, view past pujas, and access support. Clear and easily accessible support options were provided to address any user concerns promptly.
Usability Testing: Usability testing sessions were conducted with representative users to gather feedback on the high-fidelity mockups. The aim was to identify pain points, areas of confusion, or usability issues related to trust factors, product page layout, and the checkout process. Iterations were made based on the insights gathered during testing to enhance the user experience.
Responsive Design: The design was adapted to ensure a seamless experience on desktop, mobile, and tablet devices. Responsive design principles were applied to optimize the platform's layout, functionality, and interactions for different screen sizes, thereby increasing user trust and convenience across all devices.
CHAPTER 3
Launch
Development and Launch: The development team implemented the UX design, working closely with UX designers to ensure the final product aligned with the envisioned user experience. Rigorous testing and quality assurance were conducted to ensure a bug-free and reliable platform that instills trust and provides a seamless user journey.
Post-Launch Evaluation: Post-launch evaluations were conducted to gather user feedback and data on user engagement, conversion rates, and user satisfaction. This feedback helped identify areas for further improvement and optimization, especially related to trust-building measures, product page performance, and checkout process enhancements.
